PADI SEAL TEAM

Underwater Adventures for Young Divers

The PADI Seal Team is an exciting way for children aged 8 and over to take their scuba adventures further. Through a series of fun underwater challenges called AquaMissions, young divers learn real scuba skills while building confidence, having fun and making new friends along the way.

Each AquaMission combines learning with underwater activities and challenges. Children develop skills such as breathing underwater, clearing their mask, recovering their regulator and controlling their buoyancy, before progressing to even more exciting underwater adventures.

Complete the first five AquaMissions and they become an official PADI Seal Team Member – with the opportunity to continue on to the PADI Master Seal Team.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING SEAL TEAM?

The adventure begins with AquaMission 1, where we introduce the equipment, underwater communication and some of the basic skills your young diver will need. They'll experience breathing underwater and start learning how to move comfortably and confidently while using scuba equipment.

As they progress through the five AquaMissions, they'll develop their abilities step by step. They'll learn skills such as clearing water from a mask, recovering a regulator and controlling themselves underwater, while taking part in games and challenges designed to keep learning fun.

It's not simply about completing skills. Seal Team gives children the opportunity to become more comfortable underwater, develop independence and experience the excitement of learning something genuinely new.

After successfully completing AquaMissions 1–5, they'll become an official PADI Seal Team Member.

And the adventure doesn't have to stop there…

READY FOR THE NEXT CHALLENGE?

PADI Master Seal Team

Once your child has completed the first five AquaMissions, they can continue their underwater adventures by working towards PADI Master Seal Team.

There are 10 additional Specialty AquaMissions, introducing young divers to different areas of scuba such as buoyancy, navigation, environmental awareness and simulated underwater adventures inspired by activities such as wreck and night diving.

Complete all 10 Specialty AquaMissions and they'll earn the recognition of PADI Master Seal Team Member – a fantastic achievement for a young diver.

Questions You May Have

HOW OLD DOES MY CHILD NEED TO BE?

Children must be at least 8 years old to participate in the PADI Seal Team program.

DO THEY NEED TO HAVE TRIED SCUBA BEFORE?

No previous scuba diving experience is required. Children simply need to be comfortable in the water and ready to have some underwater fun.

IS SEAL TEAM DIFFERENT FROM BUBBLEMAKER?

Yes. Bubblemaker is a great first taste of scuba diving, while Seal Team is a more structured program where children progressively develop scuba skills through a series of AquaMissions.

Your child doesn't need to have completed Bubblemaker before joining Seal Team.

WHAT ARE AQUAMISSIONS?

AquaMissions are underwater scuba adventures designed especially for young divers. Each one introduces skills, knowledge and activities in a fun and engaging way.

The first five AquaMissions develop the fundamental scuba skills required to become a PADI Seal Team Member.

IS ALL THE EQUIPMENT PROVIDED?

Yes. We provide all the scuba equipment your child needs for their Seal Team sessions. Equipment is selected and fitted appropriately so they can concentrate on learning and enjoying their underwater adventure.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE FIRST FIVE AQUAMISSIONS?

After completing AquaMissions 1–5, your child becomes an official PADI Seal Team Member.

They can then continue with 10 Specialty AquaMissions and work towards becoming a PADI Master Seal Team Member.

CAN SEAL TEAM LEAD TO A SCUBA CERTIFICATION?

Seal Team itself is a youth scuba program rather than an Open Water Diver certification. From age 10, children who are ready can begin working towards the PADI Junior Open Water Diver certification.

DO I NEED A MEDICAL FORM?

Yes. All participants complete a short medical questionnaire. If anything is flagged, you may need a doctor’s clearance before diving.
